Under what conditions does the barrier have to be taken out of the waterRequirements are that the barrier withstand winds of up to 70 km/hour, and wave heights of up to 3 meters. Barrier will be taken out of the water and stowed if and when wind and or wave heights are forecast above these limits.

How long does it take to remove and stow barrier?From one to one and a half days depending on conditions.

Will hatchlings be able to get through the barrierThe barrier will be outside the reef in depths greater than 3 metres. Since the barrier extends just one metre down from the waterline, there is ample room for hatchilings to get through by diving under the barrier.

What's the cost of the barrier?Approximately $530k. It includes first year maintenance service.
